The Shenandoah Valley Pipe band was founded in early 2009 by pipe major Kathy Boyer, several of her piping students, and a small group of drummers who had never before played the highland drums. Since the founding, we have played a variety of festivals and parades, including annual events such as the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Roanoke, and the Scots-Irish Festival in Lexington, and have won the best marching unit in the Staunton July 4th parade on multiple occasions. The band provides traditional Scottish and Irish pipe music to the Shenandoah Valley, an area rich with Scots-Irish culture and tradition.
We are based out of Staunton, VA but we have members from the entire Shenandoah Valley from Roanoke to Winchester. We play a variety of events including weddings, funerals, Burns nights, festivals and parades. We’d love to play for you!
